Instructions for entering the Academy of Shem:

Security Certificates:

You may have encountered a security certificate warning.  This is designed to discourage people from entering a new or unknown site which may contain viruses, malware, etc., which can harm your computer.  If you are using the above link you will not be exposed to any danger and you will need to click the appropriate buttons to allow yourself to proceed to the site.  If there is a box to check that will allow your browser to remember your visit, click it so that the next time you can proceed unhindered to the room.

Software requirements:

You will need Adobe Flash Player so download and install it if you do not have it already installed on your computer.

If you still can't enter the site, download Mozilla's Firefox browser as IE (Internet Explorer) is sometimes problematic.

Some operating systems will ask if you want to allow the classroom to have access to your microphone and webcam before you can enter the classroom (other operating systems will bring up this dialog box inside the classroom).  

Click "Allow" if you want to use your microphone or webcam in the room.  Click "Deny" if you do not want to use them.

When the login window opens, enter a Username (no Password required for guests).

Choose the speed of your internet connection (high speed or dialup).

There is no longer a password necessary for the room.

Click "OK"

Rules of Conduct for the room:

• Be nice.  
• Be respectful.  
• These classes are not for arguing or debating, but for learning Torah.  Moderators have been instructed to ban users who engage in any disruptive behavior.
