Description

A place to find other like minded Texans. I have not found any B'Nei Noach groups but I know I am not alone here. I encourage others in Texas to join as well.

1. Who is this man born out of a womans womb? (Mankind). 2. Why give this Heavenly treasure to man on earth. 2. After Moshe explains to the Heavenly court why the Torah should belong to man, the Heavenly court is well pleased with Moshe. They give Moshe gifts, including the Destroyer. This is explained in detail when Aaron is told by Moshe to get the incense and stand between the Destroyer and Israel (this secret was a gift given to Moshe at that time). 3. The Talmud says: That out of Hashems mouth the Torah was broken into 70 different languages, so that all nations would not have an excuse to say, " I never received or could not understand the Torah". G-d Bless Israel, G-d Bless the Many nations, I am Noahide.

I believe that the sages were way ahead of their time. And the main point is to be studying with somone regardless if there in one place or afar. There is a story in the Talmud where a sage was sick in bed and could not leave to go pray with his students in the Yeshiva. One of his students asked if they should lift the bed and bring it to the yeshiva or have the Torah students come to his bed side. His answer was no, not to break their concentration during prayers but to let him know what time they will begin praying so he can begin at the same time. I look forward to having many discussions with our fellow Noahides and would lilke to see more topics in regards to what Noahides are going through in their lives and communites. Baruch Hashem

ugo,
I'm in Baltimore MD, made a stop at one of my favorite judaica bookstores Shabsi's. Met a rabbi great person studied under Nechama Leibowitz of blessed memory (1905-1997). He shared some great insight and enjoyed his discussion in regards to this Great Teacher, her way of teaching and techniques on breaking apart the Chumash is fascinating. if anyone gets a chance do yourself a big favor and study her books. It was interesting I mentioned she was light years ahead an he mentioned 'light years behind', I was a bit perplexed but when he explained it meant closer to Mt. Sinai it made me smile. Nechama Leibowitz had this particular style to grab the phrase and make you look at it in a deeper perspective. Take care Noahides and keep studying (with the Fear of Hashem).

ugo,
Why do Noahides study so much? I cannot speak for all Noahides simply from my own experience. All my life I 'Feared Hashem'. Not to fear as one would being oppressed or out of submitting to a task master. But to know that a Creator existed and by simply seeing His creation in everyday life was to be in awe of Him. Throughout my journey I searched for my Creator. I read and followed anyone and everyone who claimed to know the 'Truth'. However to no avail completely in darkness blinded by false notions. In my endeavor and spiritual journey i met many a so-called sheperd who was truly a butcher, a leader who did not lead nor did he care for the nourishing of his so called 'flock'. Many among the nations search for the 'Truth', who is, where is G-d? So we search the Torah in the late hours of the night and early mornings, missing meals and losing track of time to search for our Creator. As I search the scriptures, I began to find and understand whom I 'feared' all my life. A gentle Father, who was kind enough not to forget me. He left His voice in the Sages of past and His words in His precious Heavenly Treasure given to mankind.

How beautiful are you Father to even consider me, precious and of value. I search and search into the Torah's, that's right the Torah's. I do not hesitate to read for my soul has been depleted all my life of this thirst. The thirst to know my Father. How can anyone deny a man or woman in the desert almost dead of thirst, WATER? It would seem cruel to just give them a sip to wet their lips. And forbid them to drink anymore to survive let alone sustain themselves. I read that Hashem heard the cry of Hagar and water came from the ground, is not Hashem merciful and kind, many Noahides know this TRUTH.

I came to know Hashem searching and serving in the Darkness to see that the Torah is light, the light of many nations. We study because we will never again be lied to!

Welcome gratitude12. Looks like we have a few new Austinites! Let me know if there is any interest in getting together maybe at a starbucks? There is not too many Noahide communities out there and only a handful (if that) in the Austin area. It would be nice to get to know y'all. My husband and I live about 20 miles north of Austin, we moved here about 5 years ago from California. We attended the Noahide Nations conference in Dallas last summer and made our declaration.

Thank you BeeCos for the warm welcome! I really hope to become an active user on Noahide Nations. I would be really interested in meeting you at Starbucks some day but unfortunately I do not live in the Austin area. I am actually located in the Odessa/Midland TX area. There is not a Noahide group here in this area although we do have a few groups that meet but they have totaly different views and not into becoming a Noahide group. It makes it hard to do things with them. I did go to the conference and by your picture I do seem to remember seeing you although I don't think we actually met. It was an awesome experience and I've heard that Rabbi Richman & Rabbi Sutton will be in our area again soon. I know the Lubbock area for sure but I don't know when they will be coming. Rumor has it in February or March. Hopefully the rumor will be true!

I totally agree with you that it is difficult to get together with other Noahides. Aside from the conference we have yet to meet any other Noahides. I am blessed to have a husband who studies Torah and Jewish scriptures like its air to breathe. We have visited a few shuls, but still remain isolated. Thank goodness for the internet!!! We had never heard of Noahides before the conference and went to meet Tovia, we came home with a passion for Juadaism and to be Noahides. I am curious to the different views you mentioned, I am very interested in how other Noahides live and practice their faith. Please do let me know if Rabbi Richman/Sutton is coming to Texas, I would love to see them again and Rena, how I have a special place in my heart for her :-) I will bug her and beg her again to write a book..big fan! I took a few pics at the conference, I dont know how you look like but my husband and I were the short hispanic/filippino couple.(lol) I was the one who won the quilt at the auction. I don't know where Odessa is, we moved here from northern california so I have to google it, I wouldn't mind traveling once in a great while to meet other Noahides and have like a family reunion kind of thing. I really don't know how to navigate this site at all and wonder where in the world is everybody. I don't see too much dialogue or chatting, if i post things i see it months later and by then I moved on. I have joined a noahide private facebook group are you on it? You can privately email me. Thanks

No, I am not on the noahide private on facebook. I do have a facebook and I am on the Noahide Nations facebook. Is that the one you are talking about? I would love to e-mail back & forth. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. My e-mail didn't alert me when you posted back and I haven't been on in a while, as you can see. Let me know about the facebook and maybe we can share ideas, tips, recipes (lol), etc.

ugo,
Here is a talmudic thought: In Shabbos Tractate 3(Schottenstein) it discussess Moshe going up to Mt. Sinai to receive the Torah. He is met by the Heavenly council and Hashem. Question 1- What and how did the Heavenly council address Moshe? Question2- How did the Heavenly council treat Moshe after his response? Question3-When Hashem gave the Torah did He give the Torah in one language or did He break this into others and if so how many? And why? I hope it provokes you to think about the above. Baruch Hashem
