It is truly with much sadness that I make this announcement but after recent events I am very much compelled and obligated to do so.  I ask that you read this post completely as it will alert you to some abuses that have been occurring and warn you of the perpetrators.

Members of the Noahide Nations Yahoo group along with attendees of Torah classes in the Academy of Shem and within the new Noahide Social Community have been plagued with a constant flow of solicitations by a single individual.  We have done everything we possibly can to keep this out of the public eye while trying to put a stop to this practice.

I had received more evidence that members are continuing to be solicited for donations via email.  I put up a second post on Sept. 1^st (#4953) to once again address this ongoing problem.  Due to the fact that the person sending these emails had completely disregarded my requests to stop and as a result of their recent activity, which includes harassing emails to people who did the right thing by coming forward to expose this person, we must now bring this to the public forum to alert and warn you of what has been transpiring.

The person I am referring to is Naomi Samadi.  Many facts, which were unknown before, have now surfaced.  Some of these follow:

1)  It has been confirmed that Naomi and her husband have been soliciting Noahides and Jews for donations for the past 7-8 years.  This was confirmed to me by a trusted Jewish friend who had once raised and sent funds to Naomi and Avraham.  At that time Naomi and her husband Nagarajan claimed that they were Jewish.  Now they claim they are Noahides.  My Jewish friend finally stopped raising and sending money to them because they started complaining that she wasn’t sending them enough money.

2)  Email confirmation shows that Naomi has used some of the donated money to enroll her daughter into the nearby University.  The email confirmation was written by Naomi herself.

3)  Some of the money was sent because of a claim that they needed to dig a well.  This money was sent months ago and for a time we believed that the well still had not been drilled.  However, it turns out that wells had been drilled nearly two years ago.  People have pictures of the metal water spigots installed in concrete which provides water from the well.

4)  Naomi has used the names of individuals who have donated to her in the email solicitations she sends out.  I have personally contacted most of these people to make them aware that their names have been used to solicit donations from others.  This is an absolute violation of a persons right to privacy.  Confirmation of this is from emails that have been forwarded to me from Noahide Nations members.

5)  Naomi has now sent out email blasts to groups of people claiming that Noahide Nations and “Mr. Ray” have blocked their account and basically kicked them out of Noahide Nations.  She is also attempting to demonize one of the people who did the right thing by exposing this continued activity.  I have an email in which Naomi states “(name withheld ) indicated to me in chat that (they are) willing  to give charity and has asked me during the chat in chat box , that (they) wants to know who else gives me the charity.” The person she is referring to here did not say that they wanted to send her charity or ask who had been sending charity.  And, even if they did ask, Naomi must have told them that she was in need of the charity first, otherwise why would they even think to send her charity?  Naomi has sent these emails to a large group of people in an attempt to justify her actions while blaming others.

6)  Naomi has received thousands of dollars from Noahide Nations over the past 8 months and thousands more from people who sent the money independent of Noahide Nations.  Over the past 7-8 years I would suspect that the amount collected by Naomi is up in the tens of thousands of dollars and yet their circumstance never seem to change.

7)  Seven years ago they claimed that they wanted to move to the USA.  This was told to a number of different people.  With the amount of money that has been sent to them they could have moved an entire community over here.

8)  Naomi refused to stop her soliciting of funds after I posted my notice in June and again in September.

9)  This morning I received an email from one of the people that Naomi has solicited.  It reflects clearly the harassment of this person by Naomi.

There is too much information that has surfaced to be listed here but I think these will help serve as a warning to everyone.

Because of what has been done here many who were in greater need have suffered because all the kind hearted people in this group who made donations and designated the funds to go to Naomi.  As a result we have not been able to help others in more need, because of the thousands that were specifically designated for Naomi and have been sent to Naomi.

For those on the group who have asked for help from Noahide Nations and haven’t received it, I sincerely apologize.  But know that we have tried our best to give what we can and still pay our bills.  I am so sorry.  May HaShem bless you and Elokim hold them accountable.

To rectify this situation Noahide Nations has taken the following actions.  Some of which you already know.

1) We have changed the member email setting to "Allow members to hide their email address from the group". However, now that this has been selected the polls feature will never function again and members who hide their email address will not be able to post messages via email.  They will need to be posted through the group web site.

2) We will be filing a complaint with Yahoo against Naomi for her continued violations of the Yahoo terms of use in order to notify them of what has been occurring on the Noahide Nations group.

3) We have deleted the membership of Naomi from this Yahoo group, Noahide Nations Social Community and the Academy of Shem.  Their actions dictate that this needed to be done.  We will ask Yahoo to conduct their own investigation and if they are so inclined we will provide them with the documentation we have received up to now to assist in their investigation.

4) The following you will have to do for yourselves. We are advising everyone that if you wish to stop these people who are sending out these donation solicitations to you then you need to block them in your email program.  If you have Yahoo, Gmail and the like you will need to check the ‘Help’ for instructions to learn how to block these senders.

Noahide Nations will continue working with trusted Rabbis from around the world who have first hand experience with those who are truly in need.  We will continue to provide donated funds to these Rabbis so that we can, with the help of HaShem, we can help as many people as possible.  These Rabbis know who the people are that are in need of our help.

Noahide Nations, like the Rabbi of a Shule, will not give all the tzedakah we receive to one person or one family, as has happened here.  We will spread it around to as many people as we possibly can in order to help as many as we can.  This way many benefit from the charity of others.  It is my hope that you will continue to find it in your hearts to help people who are truly in need.

Also, if anyone solicits you personally for donations please be aware that there is a great number of unscrupulous people who commit fraud and theft regularly around the world.  It is up to each one of us to be ever vigilant when considering a donation to another individual.  Please notify me immediately if this is continuing to happen to you as a result of being a part of Noahide Nations.

There are people all over the world who need help desperately and without our help many will continue to suffer.  So, please, don’t allow this unfortunate occurrence to stop you from doing mitzvoth.  The Sages teach that the greatest mitzvah in charity is when a person makes a general donation and does not know who the recipient will be and the recipient does not know who gave the charity.  There is no ego involved and no emotion other than the act of giving and the act of receiving.  This is the greatest mitzvah of charity.

Lastly, to those who provided the evidence to expose these abuses taking place, we, at Noahide Nations, are sincerely grateful for what you have done.  As Noahides we are obligated to protect each other from harm if it is at all possible.  You did what a Noahide should do, seek justice.  For that I applaud you but I also want to say how sorry I am that you were forced to even have to consider making the decision to come forward in the first place.
