People Toughing People!

I would like to share a story about what it means to be a true Noahide.  Many of us are doing well in our lives and are able to attend the Noahide World Conference without much difficulty.  There may be some financial strain as with any vacation be we are all going just the same to fellowship, meet and make new Noahide friends, learn Torah from some of the best Torah minds in the world and just have a great time.

Unfortunately, there are also some Noahides who will not be able to attend the conference due to a lack of funds.  Through no fault of their own they have found themselves in a difficult financial circumstance.  Most of us have found ourselves in this same situation a time or two.  Later, with the help of HaShem and our own efforts, we find ourselves back on our feet and doing OK.

I was recently told about an effort being put forth by 3 different Noahide Groups who are working together to help other Noahides attend the upcoming World Conference.  This effort, by people just like you and me, epitomizes what it is to be a Noahide and walking in the path of HaShem.

As I understand it these folks have banded together and have rented 2 spaces at an antique show where there are hundreds of people selling…well whatever they have.  I’ve been told it’s like one big 2 mile long garage sale.  These Noahides are sacrificing their own money, personal property, going to the neighbors and anyone else who wants to contribute, loading up the vehicles and heading to the antique show.  Their goal is simple; raise as much money as possible in order to help as many Noahides get the conference as they can.  When we speak the words sacrifice through action we see it clearly demonstrated by these wonderful B’nai Noah.  When we wonder what being the light means, their selfless act exemplifies being the light.

Friends, my heart has been touched and my eyes are a little watery in sharing this with you.  I applaud their sacrifice.  This is what being a Noahide is all about.  People touching people, in a positive way, in the name of HaShem. 

HaShem will bless them and they will probably have the time of their lives doing it.
