Teshuvah, or “return,” is the word we use for repentance. It means to return to the path that HaShem has set for us. The path back to G-d is often difficult because of the allure of other religious and cultural philosophies. This class will focus on how a Noahide is to keep the commandments of HaShem in the face of the opposition from both our society’s secular and religious culture: the secular opposition to breaking down the artificial barrier between church and state, and the religious community’s opposition to the Noahide prohibition of organized religion. Particular attention will be placed on how a Noahide should deal with Christianity, which is not only our culture’s major organized religion and the foundation of much of Western culture, but the greatest barrier to our implementing the Seven Laws of Noah in our society.
