This critical program will begin to resolve the issue of “lack of community” for Noahides. There are hundreds of Noahides wanting to be part of a Noahide congregation but lack an individual to lead the way. This intensive 1 year training program is designed to cultivate and train new Noahide community leaders who will be credentialed by Noahide Nations in order to receive clergy licensing in their home state.
Students will be studying 4-6 evenings a week and participating in a live Noahide community in Dallas, TX. When they leave Dallas they will be able to start, grow and maintain a Noahide congregation; teach Torah, Hebrew language and Nach. When licensed they will be able to legally perform Noahide weddings and funerals, visit hospitals and prisons, conduct Noahide Shabbat services, festivals and will have all the rights and responsibilities of any clergy in their local community. Noahide Nations is offering this program free but funding is needed for housing, food, study books, etc.
There are four areas of study that will benefit any Noahide who hope to one day teach other Noahides and form Noahide communities. These areas are: Hebrew Weekly Parshah Noahide Halachah Nach etting the student into the habit of studying each of these areas on a daily basis will prepare themto lead, teach, or guide other Noahides with interest in learning Torah. Over the course of the Noahide Nations one year learning program we will give participants a crash course into learning and help them develope proper perspectives that will aid in their teaching and self-study.
To give a fuller idea of what we propose, I will take each of the four areas of study and break it down to show what the student will be learning.
Hebrew is the foundation for all learning. Without it the Noahide is cut off from a great deal of potential learning. Hebrew learning will be a part of all teaching. The student will begin with a basic introduction to Hebrew through learning the alphabet, basic blessings, and some prayers. Next students will be taught grammar. Over the course of the year the student will go from knowing no Hebrew to having an intermediate level of knowledge. This knowledge of Hebrew will be used throughout the remaining courses as each course will give students an opportunity to read and translate Hebrew into English as part of their studies.
Suggested Books: Adam's Hebrew intro for Noahides; The First Hebrew Primer; Maskilon 4 Volume set
The weekly Parsha will be taught daily, each day keeping in step with that days aliyah reading. This will give students a disciplined approached to Torah study that will make studying Torah both easier, as learning will be conducted in bite-sized learning bits; and it will also allow greater depth of study.
Suggested Books: Hebrew Torah with commentaries
Noahide halachah is the least studied area of Torah for Noahides. This subject will be taught to help Noahide future leaders know what areas are truly important for them to stress to new Noahides, but it will also give a practical learning of these laws so that not only can these students teach others what these laws are or mean, but even more how to do them! A great deal of confusion exists among Noahides concerning what exactly Noahide halachah is.
Suggested Books: Mishneh Torah; Atem Adai; Or Laa'mim; The Seven Laws of Noah
Nach will be studied daily so that by the end of the year the student will have completed the entire Nach. Learning Nach is of particular importance to Noahides as they face daily challenges from Christians, Atheists, and others. Learning Nach will prepare these Noahide students so that they can face such challenges confidently while offering challenges of their own. Learning Nach will also give the student opportunities to learn a Torah perspective. In many places the Nach gives living examples of the Torah in action and this will aid the student to combine all the learning he is engaging in and combine it with the realization that the Torah is a book of teachings that will guide our lives in the real world.
Suggested Books: Stone Tanach; Hebrew Nach with commentaries
